Why does my mouse cursor keep jumping to the topleft corner of my monitor?

Cause 3: Touchpad conflict with the mouse.

Solution:

  1. Go to Control Panel.
  2. Click on Mouse, then «Device Settings».
  3. Check the box that says, » Disable internal pointing devices when external USB pointing device is attached»

  1. Open Control Panel
  2. Click on ‘Mouse’
  3. Go to ‘Device Setting’ tab.
  4. Under that there will be a list of devices.
  5. Disable the ‘touchscreen device’ if you are using a external pointing device i.e. mouse or vice versa.

Cause 4: Poor touchscreen calibration (applies to touchscreen laptops or desktops).

Solution: Recalibration.

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Select Hardware and sound.
  3. Under this option find Tablet PC settings.
  4. Click on “Calibration the screen for pen or touch input”.
